I'm not into churches and their billboards however one church in our area has a saying on theirs at the moment that I quite like.
"When you can't sleep - count your blessings"
So true. We get so caught up with material possessions and keeping up with everyone that we don't take a look at what we already have.

Some of them are clever, if a little pithy. No, not pissy... pithy. Although if you had a lisp they'd sound the same.
But I agree with your point - we should stop trying to outdo each other and be thankful for what we already have.
